My weekend planned..
Yes, the best laid plans went astray. My supervisor has just had knee surgery and is recovering, but is not allowed to stand for long periods, so...
Saturday morning I meet with the Director and a City Council Person to discuss the needs and wants of a neighborhood that will become my next project. The Council Person provides the ideas, the Director does the politically correct thing, and I tell them what can be done from an engineering standpoint. It will be interesting. I figure a few more people will show up, so the more the merrier, but at least when I start work, I'll have some definite direction and tailor the project as they see fit.
Tomorrow morning I become the technical person for a conference, making sure each presenter has their laptop attached to the City Council chamber audio-visual system. That should start about 7:30 a.m. and continue for a few hours, then back to my desk for the usual bullshit.
Tis the political season, when all the politicians want to make that big splash before the ballots go out.
I wonder if I'll get comp time for the Saturday adventure and will I get out early on Friday for starting early?
