the sign....

Life in a small town.

Where I live we have a mix of people, There is an ongoing battle of good and evil and there are many who seek salvation. Marx once said that religion was the opiate of the masses, and in that case we have an epidemic here in the valley.

This was an official road sign at one time. The aluminum surface was probably stolen by some tweeter (the local term for the chronic users of crystal meth) to recycle and support his habit, and some other person decided the sign needed a more positive message.

Someone evidently took exception, hence the red circle and crossbar.

Another battle between the forces of good and evil. Later I noticed the sign had been restored and the red removed. Anne Miller was hit by a car while walking along the road. One of the problems addressed by the sign was the drivers cruising at 55 mph, the posted speed for this two lane blacktop.

Such is life in Anza...

We have more than our share of monuments to the vitims of highway carnage, they are all along SR 371, one of the deadly roads into Anza. The memory of Anne Miller has been memorialized for many years.
