I think this deserves...

I just changed my web page to reflect what I see as the first salvo in the attack on our personal freedoms. Our government is based on a series of checks and balances, and these are being threatened. To read the bill that is moving through Congress that may be the beginning of the end, go to my site where the full text is on display.

Why do you think it's the first salvo?

Remember Patriot 1

and Patriot 2

While the Patriot Act(s) are still subject to judicial challenge, this bill could place some laws beyond any review and make the judicial system a joke. Basically i see this as the end of appeals. A ruling by a state court could not be taken higher.

Patriot 2 allows for bypassing the courts completely and ANYONE they decide to label a "terrorist" can be "disappeared" by the President. There are a number of scary possibilities under it.

Yes, but this removes judges who they see as 'violating God's Law'. Can you see where that might take us?

Don't get me wrong, I don't like it as much as you do. I'm just saying it's not the first and only thing to worry about.

Nehemiah Scudder has been made President. I just hope we can get him out.

If he gets elected (he cheated the first time) I'm seriously looking for another place to be.
