year of the ox...

but... I'm a boar... a short description is as follows

Boars are self-reliant, very sociable, dependable, and extremely determined. Boars are peace lovers, don't hold grudges, hate arguments, tense situations, and try to bring both sides together. In life they make deep and long-lasting friendships. Boars must watch themselves so that their incessant pursuit of pleasure doesn't interfere with other aspects of their lives (work). Boars possess the old-fashioned chivalry that grows on you until you totally depend on it. It is so easy to trust Boars. They have a calm expression and a sincere manner. In romance, if not careful, Boars may be taken advantage of. They are unselfish and enjoy helping their friends. If you hurt their feelings, Boars often carry the pain for years. They have a hard time saying no to those of concern. Often they wish they had said no. Boars will always be looking for ways to work off all their extra energy. They work and play hard. Even if they lose everything, Boars manage to bounce back. Their life path supply them with all they need. The Chinese believe Boars own the Horn of Plenty.

I'm happy...

It is abut time we face the fact that the cars offered by the American Automobile manufacturers are not what we really need. And the truth is that Ford, GM, and Chrysler have products they sell overseas that are more fuel efficient. I can't wait to see them in the dealer showrooms.

One thing that has always puzzled me is this... a motor vehicle engine is an air pump, it consumes air, mixes with fuel, then the waste is exhausted. The current policy is a qualitative approach, we worry about air quality from the tailpipe, and the volume ( a function of engine displacement) is not considered. We need, as we enter this carbon reduction mode, a quantitative standard, with stricter emission standards applied to large displacement sources.

The qualitative standard would kill the SUV... and as a result make the highways a whole lot safer.

time for one last post this evening...

Recession, depression, what to hell... when we are seeing thousands lose their jobs every day what you call it doesn't matter. People are hurting, no doubt. Remember, you are only a paycheck away from being a statistic.
