a nice fall day...

Working around the yard, playing with my 'new' metal detector, a walk around the perimeter picking up trash, loading the truck, planning the day mentally as I savored the sun. Now to make a short visit to my friend Steve's place, drop a few things for him, get some ripe tomatoes from his garden and make a date to make grape juice. Got to buy some 1 inch dowel and also find some good wood to make a plunger for my juicer. I got to check the mail at the post office (8 miles away) and drop stuff at the transfer station (3 miles away) and visit my favorite bicycle shop (20 miles away). As you can gather, living in the 'sticks' means I drive a lot.

looking back...a reminder of Republican policy

When the Bush regime was sending bodies home in countless numbers I made a pilgrimage to Santa Monica and the memorial called Arlington West... a sea of crosses in the sand, each one for a life of an American son or daughter, father or mother who lost their life in Iraq... we need to remember what happened, and the politicians responsible for the travesty...we need no more wars of empire... no more wars of lies.
