Obama caves..

While Obama sounded good, and he did get a few good items of his agenda passed, I don't see him being reelected. There is a need for a real peoples candidate, someone who can speak to the people and inspire them, and more than just speak, can actually create change and hope.

Here is another article about Obama's style and how we are in for possibly a very rough ride. It is noted that the progressive wing of the party has now started a campaign to kill the compromise... although when Congress is dominated by millionaires, you don't get much sympathy for the working man.

Obama never said "Yes I Can". he said "Yes We Can". Sadly, most of the left stopped working when the election was over and just went home to whine in front of their computers. Why weren't people in the streets by the thousands in support of single payer? Or in support of stricter Wall Street reform? Or in support of Democratic candidates and their agenda in November? Why aren't they in the streets now protesting 700 Billion in tax cuts for the rich? Because they are lazy, narcissistic children, that's why.

The mass apathy by the voters is the result of a lack of leadership and a failure by Obama to talk to his base. I've made more phone calls and sent more emails but it is very evident that many in the Democratic side of both houses don't side with Obama and he hasn;t been forceful enough with his own party. I still wonder why the Democratic majority is so fearful of the filibuster? Let the Republicans talk, and pick their talking points apart piece by piece... but there are no spokes people in Congress that want to articulate the argument. This battle should have been played out in the media, but the media only played the Republican talking points. I await the 2012 elections as I await to see who will appear in the primaries. I think Obama will not run, but who will be the next Democratic candidate? As for protests, the progressive Democrats ended to hold house parties and talk chit chat. Will we see marches again? I doubt it, conditions are not bad enough yet and by the time they are people will find they don't have the right to protest.
