Just watching the news...
Aug. 10th, 2003 06:54 pmI thought I'd comment about the Kobe Bryant case. Seems that a great majority of sports fans will assume that Kobe is innocent, because he plays a good game and is famous. Well, we have had other sports heroes that were good at their game, who turned out were a lot less of a hero than we thought they were. We had Pete Rose, then there was O.J. Simpson, and what about the 'arrest of the week' that seems to plague the NBA and NFL?
All I can say, Kobe can hire the best lawyers, he can play the race card, but he admitted having sexual relations with the accuser. We will have a media circus, everyone will be tried in the media, but it takes a jury of 12 people to make the final decision. Personally, I think Vanessa is a fool for sticking with Kobe, she'll probably drop him like a hot rock after the trial. Talk about money, she's going to do just fine. As for the accuser? She'll go through hell, be called names, and depending on how strong she is, come through this wearing scars that will be with her for the rest of her life. There will be little justice regardless of the outcome.
