even colder

Dec. 7th, 2011 10:25 am
Last night was the coldest I've seen in years. The temperature outside dropped into the low teens... so cold that my water pipes froze. Today I'll add more insulation to the pipes, and cut some more fire wood for the stove. Right now I'm warming up the house and planning to work outside while the temperatures are warmer (if you can consider 40 degrees warm). I guess it would have to warm up to snow.

a cold day

I haven't seen the high side of 45 degrees today. it is more winter than fall. Cold and the furnace is on. I'll have the wood stove running tomorrow.

Yes, I'm going through another dose of winter, I can't see the mountains, but I'm sure they have snow on them. I just am above 50 degrees and had a bit of sun to give me hope that the day might be better, but the weather forecast is for another day of storms before we see sun again. When you live at the elevation of clouds, you get a lot of clouds, but when the overcast is low, we relish the sun.

Not a day to work outside, a cold wind and showers put a damper on that.  I guess I need to find some work to do inside, as if I had to look far to find some. Enjoy the day, where ever you are, stay warm and safe knowing that someone somewhere cares.

Woke this morning to a heavy layer of frost... it was cold last night and the dew point was just right to form heavy frost. The front yard was white...

Got some snow, in fact it is still coming down. I wonder what I'll see tomorrow morning?

The day started out better, but just now I drive home in sleet and the deck has a light coat of white. It supposed to be a cold time, and I just grabbed some thermals and an ear muff so if I want to go out in the snow I can. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

More weather, a threat of snow, and more cold. I'll make a trip to Temecula tomorrow after I put a set of chains in the truck. I need to get some cold weather clothes for cycling.

It is very cold tonight, right now it is indicating 27 degrees... and still dropping. Wind chill should make it even lower, they are saying it might be as low at the mid teens. Wind has been gusty, with gusts to 40 mph. Snow level is dropping to 2000 feet... if there is rain it may become snow. Here is to a warmer tomorrow.
