Earth 2100

Jun. 3rd, 2009 08:50 am
Last night I happened on a show about Global Warming called Earth 2100. It was based on known science about global warming and traced the consequences of inaction of people to the crisis and consequences of unknowns in science. The scenarios are played out in a graphic novel. I hope to see it released or re-run, as everyone should watch it with their kids, and think about what they are leaving their children and grandchildren. It is not a pretty picture, but one that all must examine in detail. The individual chapters are on the site.
It seems that GM isn't such a bargain. Since when does saving an industry include closing 14 plants and shipping more jobs overseas? No, I see GM as the same dinosaur it was. Nothing new here.

Micheal Moore has his view... and I pretty much agree. If we are holding such a high stake in GM, we need members of the public on the board of directors. Let the people decide the direction of GM. It is our company.
This week is the 66th anniversary of the Zoot Suit Riots of 1943.

This was crass racism if there ever was a case, as whites provoked, harassed, and beat zoot suit members of the Pachuco culture. It will be intersting to see how the media handles this or will they ignore it like they usually do.
