Getting used to Windows

Windows is trying desperately to become an Apple clone.. I'm getting used to the clunkyness, the crude solutions and knowing this I will be disposing of this laptop as soon as I get some work done with a software package that only runs on windows. So stay tuned for a laptop sale. This one has Windows 8i and while nice it is not that good. It is still windows. Another aspect that shows is the concern for protection from cyber threats, as a whole cadre of hackers have devoted their lives to finding all the flaws in the Windows operating system.

It is fast but they have a ways to go for battery life. The say 4 hours. My old macbook does 8 hours. Windows laptops are cheap. This one costs $199 plus tax. Another thing is new laptops don't have a CD/DVD drive anymore.

I switched to linux because I find it easy to use and much less expensive to run. The lack of a DVD drive in modern inexpensive laptops bugs me. It is a symptom of our appstore obsessed future.

It is a cheap HP. A lot of plastic and doesn't appear to be made but for a few years lifespan. AMD processor. Back to school special sale price without having to hassle with rebates. I won't be keeping it long. I figure after I use it six months it will be for sale for $150.
