This is like 1969...

I remember that year. I was in Monterrey, CA, it rained for 28 days. We had floods everywhere.

Now we are having mucho rain. The courtyard where I live looks like a lake. The ocean is lapping at the seawall wanting to come on the island. I cannot get to my car without getting my shoes soaked. You can find yourself hydroplaning at 25 miles per hour. And, the worst part of the storm hasn't hit yet.

As a public works employee, I'm lucky, I work in the office, but a lot of the employees will be out taking care of downed trees, plugged drains, and local flooding. Maybe I'll be lucky and have a power outage at work, but that won't happen, as we have a backup generator system that can keep the whole place running.

Is that when it was? I remember a January and February of rain. Rain and nothing but more of it.

Yeah, I was in the Air Force and stationed at the Presidio of Monterrey. We didn't see the sun for 28 days. We started to see mushrooms growing in the barracks. When I came south, the rivers and creeks were flooding Orange County.
