Damn Cold..

I'm home today trying to get the upper hand on a bad cold thathas decided to return to my chest. Rest, chicken soup, and plenty of liquids, along with a bunch of over the counter meds.

Argh, I'm sorry you're sick again. :(

Have you ever tried taking echinacea? I do, in tincture format, at the first sign of possible cold symptoms. I really think it's one of the reasons I've been able to fend off colds or that the colds I do get are manageable and relatively short-lived. Otherwise, keep up those hot liquids and rest, rest, rest!

Unfortunately echinacea isn't something I can take. I suffer from Systemic Lupus Erythematosis and echinacea has been known to cause flare ups, thus I don't use it. It seems that part of the problem is that people have been showing up at work before they have fully recovered, thus sharing their germs with others. I'll be back to work tomorrow, as what happened was a rather sleepless night. And, yes, Lupus is a rare diseasse amoungst males.

I'm familiar with Lupus, I just didn't realize that echinacea causes complications, argh.

And, yeah, both staff and the public go to the library and share germs while they're still contagious - it's very frustrating. Yesterday The Kid really wanted to go to school and to her friend's club meeting, but even if her cold was mild, on Day One I didn't want her coughing and spewing on others, no way. It was bad enough she coughed on me all day! I'm taking echinacea now as a precaution.
