the times are a changing....

Orange County is laying off 210 social workers... Santa Ana is planning the layoffs of 42 yet to be identified people... Mission Viejo plans pay cuts yet spends $310,000 on a Rose Parade float. Crazy times, we are all sweating this out. If the State of California doesn't get a budget passed or if they do as the usually do and rob the cities to balance their budget, there will be more news like that.
Management always blames the cost of people when at the same time they give away the city... millions have been given away in land.... millions have been given away to developers.... then there are those 'pet' projects, the 'pork barrel'' at the city level. Then there are the 'sacred cows', the police and fire budgets, that eat up 75% of the city money.... not counting the fact that most cops and firemen make six figure salaries while working 36 hour work weeks. Would you believe that part f a contract would include high speed internee for use during the times they sit waiting for a fire?
No, we have working class, centurion class (police and fire), and ruling class (managers and executives). I'm working class, probably more like struggling class, as it looks like we'll be the ones paying for the excesses of the others.
Next we have the political posturing, the pointing of fingers, and the threats of more layoffs. Of course we will still see the ruling class get their 'free' cars, the centurions will get stuff to fight terror and intimidate the homeless, and the working class will get the short end of a shitty stick.
