You can criticize the Pope, or make fun of any biblical passage but when it comes to Islam, they are a bit thin skinned. If you cannot laugh at yourself, you are not human.

while i think the prohibition on images of the "prophet" by non-muslims is laughable, and the fatwehs against cartoonists are downright evil, this is not about making fun of islam, it is about drawing images of mohammed, which is prohibited specifically in the koran.
