That's true--it's a huge difference between, say, Elsinore, which has "always" been there, and Hemet. All our Texas lakes but one, though, are man-made, and yet some of them look "natural" while others are "stark". I like both kinds of lakes, but stark ones like Hemet appeal to me. You're right--the northwest lakes are much more lake-like! and it is a tongue twister.
