I got going today, starting by changing one flat bicycle tire, and then delivering one bicycle I sold to my friend Steve. He's going to use the bike when he takes Amtrak to Seattle.

I then took a trip to Lake Hemet and despite high winds, did manage to take a ride along the lake, coping with the puddles, washouts, and sme mud. I used one of my salvaged bikes, and made a decision to use my Gary Fisher next time, technology has made bicycles better since my older Trek was made in 1992.

I've always thought that Lake Hemet has a kind of stark, understated loveliness that is part of what I like about inland California.
