Time for some thought and observation ...

Today was a wasted (sort of) day. I did recycle some copper pipe, about 80 pounds worth. One thing that happens nowadays is when you recycle copper, they want id, and there is a waiting period before you get paid, oh, and they take a thumb print.  Too many copper thieves out there.

Found one of my late aunts will, a copy of it. When she died she left behind a small fortune. My aunt had a chan of beauty salons and her husband owned the local electric utility. They jointly owned a radio communications company that provided almost all the radios used by state and local government in the area. They had sold the communications company a few years earlier for many millions of dollars. She left  most of it to two people. One item is the one thing I will miss. If you ever saw the movie 'On Golden Pond' you remember the setting and the cabin. She had a cabin on a lake just like that, In fact when I saw the movie, I thought of her and her husband. They were that couple. I'll never spend another day on that lake. I miss her (my aunt).

I spent the last days consumed with following the Christopher Dorner matter. Now that it is over the spin cycle has started. I gueess I'll stop leaving comments as it seems the pubic will buy the stories they see now and LAPD will get back to being itself.

All for now, maybe it will be early to bed so I can get up and get things done in the morning.

Lately I have been intrigued that a lake about an hour and twenty minutes from here has simple cabins on sale for $ 28,000. Cabins should be inexpensive, though the lake in question is near-prairie and not On Golden Pond.

I could see a cabin like that as a retreat for you and your wife. It is close by, offres a bit of solitude, a good place for relaxation or just creative thinkng. Growing up I had times when I would be at someone's cabin. Time was not part of the picture as time was something to be ignored. What was most important was having fun, relaxing, walking in the woods, seeing nature close up, or walking to the end of the dock and watching the sun rise of the glass like surface of the lake. Maybe you need a cabin.
