Back to the bayside

Did accomplish a few things this weekend. Hauled brush, found things (if you knew what a chore that is you'd know it was an accomplishment), gave my Mom a new phone, played with the two outside dogs Bear and Bruno, the inside dog Cookie, the cat Charlie, got some more hens to add to the flock, hauled some firewood, took Mom shopping, rode my mountain bike a bit, and now am going to tackle life at this end of the universe.

busted....

The laundry room has a machine, but the dryer is busted, so I had to take a trip to the local laundromat. Got it done, now thinking of dinner....as the sun sets in the west, the ending of a fine day passes. Damn, tomorrow is Monday. As the song goes, I hate Mondays. Listening to a CD of a thunderstorm with musical accompaniment, sort of hoping that nature provides some relief to our drought, soon. Also, as we have a west coast ports lockout and no cargo is moving, the Pacific Ocean off Long Beach is a huge parking lot, all these ships parking at offshore anchorages, waiting till the two sides can agree to negotiate, or till George W. invokes Taft-Hartley, and they return to work for 60 days. Estimates are that this strike is costing the U.S. economy $1 Billion a day.
