The talk of Iraqi freedom, but will they allow an Islamic majority choose an Islamic leader? Saddam might have been a sadistic bastard, but he did allow other religions to live and practice their religions. He has a very secular regime.
These people will not embrace the U.S. as liberators, but as the people who destroyed their homes, and killed their relatives, or left them at the mercy of Saddam's militia.
The Arab media has made it clear that we are not liked, and I tend to believe them. My Arab friends say we don't understand the Arab culture, we don't understand the Islamic culture. We are playing the role of the "Ugly American" (read the book) and may deserve an award for our performance.
