Privacy....

If you ever, in your wildest dreams, thought that privacy was part of our culture, you're wrong. The latest disclosures by the New York Times and changes in privacy policy announced by AT&T should have ended that dream.

Start thinking that every day when you log on someone is watching. When you turn on cable TV, they're watching. When you make a phone call, they're watching. When you purchase a book, they are watching. Privacy is  myth fostered on an unsuspecting populace to encourage you to take chances and provide more data for the dark forces to use.

Speaking of dark forces, it is not only government, but banks, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, and others we do not know of yet. Right now Goggle and others are building the worlds largest computer centers, all to collect information. What you search for, what you read, what you see, all part of the plan to know you better than you know yourself.

Am  I worried?  Somewhat.

I worked in intelligence gathering, I know what we were capable of thirty years ago. What we are capable of today is probably far beyond your wildest dreams.

You have a choice. You can try to find a hole and hide in it, or you go on living your life knowing that Big Brother is watching you. In the future you might find yourself being punished for what you read, said, or shared. I can live with that because I will refuse to live my life in paranoia.

p.s. This post probably contains some key words that will be read and the whole post will be archived for further study. I don't care, because I will strive to remain a free man.
