It seems that this article says that you may be a citizen, but in the 'war on terror' you become less than a citizen if you don't subject yourself to interrogation in a foreign land and without a lawyer present. Pity be if you leave the country then find yourself on a 'no-fly' list. Why can't these citizens be allowed to return home and then be interrogated where there may be someone to defend their rights as citizens and have the right of appeal as afforded by our court system?

Seems as of today, bring a citizen doesn't mean much to the current regime in Washington.
It seems that Israel violated an agreement with the United States about the use of cluster bombs in their war against Hezbollah.  Evidence is that they used cluster bombs in civilian areas. This not only violates our agreement on the use of these weapons but also many international agreements on conduct in war.

In addition, I wonder if Israel will disarm the thousands of mines they left behind before they kill and maim more children?

What I cannot stand is that our government sold/gave these weapons to Israel knowing full well that they would use these weapons in this fashion.

Maybe a few members of the Pentagon and Whitehouse should be tried for 'war crimes' as this is not the first case where the United States has provided or utilized weapons in an illegal fashion. Hey, we have seen Saddam on trial for using poison gas against the Kurds, during the Iraq-Iran war, technology we supplied him (while Rummy was on watch).

Do I think this will be a whitewash? Yes. Is there such a thing as justice when Israel commits 'war crimes"? No. Does our government have the guts to say 'No' to Israel? No, not as long as they run one of the biggest PAC in Washington. No, Israel owns the United States government. They, as a foreign power, have too much influence over the Congress.

Are we??

With the current state of affairs in this world and the current, almost criminal, behavior by the United States; are  we the biggest hypocrites on the planet? We talk democracy, but fail to recognize any democratically elected regime that we happen to find that doesn't agree with our policy of world domination.
Tonight I watched a show honoring the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy's book, Profiles in Courage. So many have had the guts to place it all on the line for what is just, what is right, what is needed, regardless of personal cost, be it the loss of friendships, career, or even their life. Where is the hero willing to show courage in these times so corrupt with personal greed and ambition? Is there someone willing to step up and exhibit the courage to lead us forward, forward from this dark time, and into the light of righteousness.
