The time has come for the Democrats to get their shit together. We need ethics, less influence from K Street, a better energy policy, and a close look at the war, both from a tactical viewpoint, but from the politics and corruption that surrounded it. The Republicans need to be held accountable for their actions. We need to follow some of the recommendations from Robert B. Reich as stated on NPR this morning. We need to show that Democrats can lead.

I'll sit in judgment and wait to see evidence of change.
It seems odd that this morning I noticed a rise in gasoline prices in Santa
Ana where I wok of over 20 cents a gallon. Now that the oil companies have
to face the music in Congress they have decided not to be nice and will go
back to their price gouging. Expect more increases in gasoline prices in the
near future. One more reason for taxes on oil company profits to fund
alternative energy research.
Now it gets interesting. The Democrats control the house, they have almost
control of the Senate (we should know that answer in a few days), Rumsfeld
resigns, Cheney goes hunting, Hastert will be stepping down, and we can only
hope the International Criminal Court indicts Dubya for 'crimes against
humanity'.

It looks like the future may be better, but it all depends on how well the
Democrats handle power. In 2008, I have to say the country is not ready for
a black or woman for president, when it comes to who is picked for
president; people go with the 'leader'. ( I still can't figure out what
people saw in Dubya...)

No, we need to look at someone like John Edwards.
