dumb moves...

It seems that Dubya and his cronies are making the biggest tactical
blunder in the Persian Gulf by sailing a major portion of the fleet
through the Straits of Hormuz into the waters off of Iran. Don't they
realize that a seemingly innocent 'accident' could trap them in those
waters where relatively unsophisticated weapons could pummel the U. S.
fleet? Brinkmanship may be a great sport of generals, but this time
Dubya is asking for a war. I hope the Iranians have enough sense not to
fall into this trap by the 'fools' in the Whitehouse.

window dressing...

It seems that most of the new Democrats in Congress are proposing
legislation that is nothing more than window dressing, no real
substance, meaningless pieces of paper that allow Dubya to ignore the
law. The Republicans may not have the majority, but they are still in
control, amending bills with provisions that allow Dubya to end run the
spirit of the law. Take for example the 'gas price gouging law'. Dubya
has to declare an 'energy emergency' before anything happens, and he has
already said he ay veto it.

I think it is time for a new form of government in this country, but
unfortunately, the end result may be a theocracy I cannot live with.
