They call this 4th of July weekend

I am sort of not with this patriotic crap this year. We are supposed to celebrate our freedom but do we truly have any freedom left?  We are ignored by our government unless they need our money or our life, sort of goes with  the 'death and taxes' theme. They spy on us, dumb us down, keep us struggling, keep us sick, keep us poor, keep us in the dark, keep us hungry, yet seem to always have the means to give aid to another country or to start another war. They keep us addicted to 'reality television', cigarettes, booze, prescription drugs, gasoline, and pleasure. Unfortunately a large percentage of us want a better life, we want a better government, we want better leaders, we want to see decisions based on what is right not on what is profitable. We won't fall for the dumbing down, the bullshit they call news, the spin they feed us, they promises without fulfillment.

No, this may be the time to be a patriot, but let the 'sunshine patriots' have this weekend. I'll be a patriot when the ballot box appears. I'll be a patriot when we see all those who have wronged us swinging from the gallows. That is what I want. I want to see this country rid of those who abuse power and the those we elected who betrayed the trust we put in them.

No, I can't wave the flag this weekend.
