We need a 'war tax'. This war and the reckless spending is going to reduce the value of the dollar and lead to inflation. We can solve the problem in a variety of ways, but somehow we have to pay down the debt. I thought about 'war bonds', but they would not sell well, even among the 'sunshine patriots' who run around with those 'ribbons' on their cars.

No, it must be a 'war tax'... maybe in the form of a income tax surcharge, no exceptions (except for active and retired military and veterans). The poor has to pay and so does the wealthy CEO. No one has the guts to do this though... maybe we need to call it a 'sunshine patriot tax'.
It seems that some people are afraid to let the Iranian President speak at Columbia University. Maybe it's because he might say something that would be anti-capitalist or upset the lies of George W. Bush. They will not let him visit 'ground zero'....what are they afraid of? BTW, the Iraqi puppet Prime Minister is also in New York and is welcomed warmly by Bushco (hey, he does what we say and knows his 'place'). What are we afraid of? As our country sinks to new lows in this world, we are afraid of those people who speak freely. I might not like what this or any other speaker might say, but I defend their right to say it.
I find it 'funny' when I think of the Fall of the Roman Empire and how it was their dependence on mercenaries who eventually betrayed them. The today we have Bushco and his mercenaries known as Blackwater...
Yes we are a racist society. Some parts of this country are very racist. Maybe someday we will end racism. I don't see it in my lifetime.
It seems that by watching the actions of Musharraf in Pakistan, I feel Dubya is taking notes. I wonder when Dubya will arrest the opposition leaders in this country?
