We have a Republican minority holding the country hostage in Congress.... they don't seem to have any agenda except to enrich their cronies of pave the path to the Apocalypse.

We have a lame duck president that has contempt for the law and for the people of the United States.

We have a war based on lies, run by a Pentagon who is a major part of the military/industrial/media complex. Ever notice how little people see of hear about really happened in Fallujah and other cities destroyed in the name of liberation. We will never know the cost in people, dollars, or the extent of our inhumanity to man because the Pentagon will never tell the truth.

We have the CIA (for the clueless, this is what really runs the country) destroying interrogation video where they were using 'enhanced interrogation techniques' a.k.a. torture. Will we see anything done other than some posturing and had wringing? No, don't expect anything meaningful, it's the American way.

It's cold, very cold outside. The fire is warm, the wood supply is holding out. There is food, plenty of food, in the larder. If the fire keeps me warm and the pipes don't freeze, I'll wake tomorrow to a frosty morning.

We had a government by the people, for the people. Remember the 'we the people' part? Somewhere, sometime, the people will wake up and realize that we don't have a government that represents us, we don't have a government that works in our best interest, we don't have that government our founding fathers worked so hard to form. When people do wake up, it will probably be too late, as this government will have taken our freedom and liberty in exchange for false promises of security and prosperity. I'm old, I don't have to live under the tyranny for a lifetime, only during my 'golden years;, what a joke that term is.

We need to look at our country and how we are treating our people.

We have people sleeping in our parks, alleys, and streets. These people are hungry, they suffer from addictions, they need hope. Can we give them hope?

We have a minority, who is running the country, they vote, while a majority of this country sit at home, don't participate as citizens, yet complain on shock radio how they are being hurt by illegal immigrants.

To those who are hurt by illegal immigration, if you are so hurt when a person is willing to risk it all for the American dream?  At least the illegal immigrant will work hard, would love to be a participating member of this country, and is more likely to vote if given the chance. They 'carpool', they will work for what we call a minimum wage. They put food on our tables, they work our restaurants, they care for our children, and they number in the millions. They will someday reshape this country. It is inevitable, they will become legal, they will vote. Things will change.

Who do you trust?   More later...
