Dec. 20th, 2007

I was reminded today how fitting this is as a holiday. No, tree, just a pole, no gifts, just a list, of grievances for those who have disappointed us all year.

How fitting a time, how fitting a place, Washington is the Festivus place. The politicians have provided such joy this year, that Festivus should be celebrated there.

So to all the assholes who reside on the hill, and in the white house, and make all those bills, please leave us alone, and fight your own wars, we're sick of your posturing, and you're such whores.

You tax and spend, and spend and kill. You screw up everything that nature doesn't kill. You're warming our air, our world, our future. Meanwhile poor people suffer cold winters in shelters.

Merry Festivus to all, may you gripes be heard.
By this time next year I will have a large cache of lumps of coal to mail to some selected people. It seems that many people this year are more deserving of a lump of coal tan a gift...

On other topics, I've never had this happen to me, but I've only played Santa in a public setting (office party) once. Now in a private setting, with no children present, I don't think I'd be objecting.... we have to keep the image of Santa as a good saint nick for the children.
Fair and impartial elections? That is something from the past. Wasn't it during the 'Christan'  era of the Roman Empire that it fell? Weren't 'Christians' responsible for the Inquisition and the Dark Ages? I have a strange feeling that organized religion will be what ends the human race.

I'm also somewhat surprised by people who call themselves Christian who 'study' the Bible but do not really read it. They accept someone else's interpretation of the Bible without question.

I've enjoyed the Doonesbury cartoons for the last few days..  They are not good for Huckabee or Dubya...
Ready to make the trip, the long drive, the hellish traffic, and will return to work on Wednesday December 26th. Time off to recharge, to rest, relax in front of the wood fire, and maybe shovel snow (but I doubt it).
