waiting for the weather
Jan. 3rd, 2008 12:57 pmThe weekend will be wet, maybe snow (I'm at 4000 ft), and so its time to work indoors. I got soups to make, bread to bake, maybe some cornbread, some stuff to dehydrate, stuff to seal and store. I got a room that needs serious de-cluttering. In fact I have a 20'x40' barn with a full loft that needs to be decluttered. I have to pack some 'gift' boxes for a few people I know, I'll say something before I mail them. Got to get some boxes and pack some stuff for sale on eBay. Got to clean the dust out of some electronics before I add power, I don't want the smoke to escape (that is the secret to electricity, don't let the smoke out of the wires and other components).

Jan. 3rd, 2008 08:32 pmThe 'weekend' is here for me. Tomorrow I'll do some work around the house before the real storm gets here. Donating a stove to a friend, so he can keep his hand built cabin/shack a bit warmer. Got to get the firewood in, batten down the hatches and keep a snow shovel handy. Let's see how the 'morrow dawns.
Theocracy anyone?
Jan. 3rd, 2008 08:43 pmAs was demonstrated by a supposed moral minority in Iowa, the Republicans have been co-opted by the 'evangelicals' a.k.a. those people who never really understood the Bible, and believe what their sexual deviant clergy tell them to believe.
Now we'll see if he gains any traction as a candidate in the other primaries where real people vote. The more I hear about the Iowa caucuses the more I realize its all part of a sham to make us believe that there are real contenders out there. The truth is a small (less than 7%) portion of the population of Iowa participates.
Is this a sign that we are in Hell? Is this a sign that the anti-christ is alive and well and working in the Republican party? I seem to think it is a sign that we are a democracy dying and the religious zealots are here to pave the way to our destruction. Our society is declining, we are a dying civilization, Time to read of the collapse, and study history. We are about to repeat the 'Fall of the Roman Empire', in a contemporary sense.
