Morning

Jun. 10th, 2009 01:33 pm
As the light filters through the drapes, I look forward to another day. My outlook has changed, as each day offers up opportunity not work.

Fishing entered my thoughts, and so did working in the yard, but they have to find a balance. Just as all work and no play makes life dull, all play and no work has its down side. I think work may have won this time around, as I have to make some progress on the yard.

Such is the life of a retiree.

I guess I'll take some time and exercise my film cameras. I need to work on my darkroom skills so I might look into taking a course at the local college. If it all works out, I'll share the results.

I decided to hike up a hill to see what was blooming....

Much of the park is characterized by deep canyons and arroyos.

These were blooming in the roadside along SR 74

This is a further development of the blossom stalk as the flowers become seed pods.

I plan on taking part in the California State Parks Foundation 'protest' by going to a few state parks this weekend, making a sign. taking a picture and letting Arnold know we want our parks.

I need to go fishing. Maybe tomorrow I'll check out my fishing tackle and get prepared for a fishing trip.

Got to get the ham radio gear in order. Field Day is near.

Shopping car insurance. Seems every company promises to save you money. We'll see. BTW, I will not renew with 21st Century/Farmers.
There are arguments for single payer health care, but this story puts it in very graphic and personal terms.  Share this widely, and maybe send this story to your congress person.
