It seems that Los Angeles can't leave the Owens Valley in peace. After decades of stealing water an exporting it to Los Angeles to make the landscaping green, they now want to exploit the valley with the largest solar installation in the world. Read it here...

Seems the City of Lomita doesn't want to allow a new mosque in the city.... They voted unanimously against expansion plans for the Islamic Center of the South Bay from building a new mosque on land next to their present site. I wonder if they would deny it if it was a church?

The new flavor of the political menu...

We have the Tea Party, we have the Conservatives, and now we have the Coffee Party.... The sound like something I can support right now and maybe will attract people who think before they display their ignorance on large, hand painted, signs and parade around in American Flag themed costumes. At least they won't be listening to Glenn Beck.

Lost a friend...

Last night I got an email from a close friend saying she had lost her husband on February 25th... I'll be attending his memorial service at the San Diego Botanical Garden... he was a lover of gardening, a true fisherman ( he had a 46 foot boat her operated out of Shelter Island) and friend. Goodbye Oscar....
