This relic from the 60's was parked in Santa Ysabel...and is used daily for a ride to work.



It had the optional big brakes... this was Pontiacs answer to disk brakes, big, finned drums.. a Pontiac exclusive.

And to the more mundane...

Yesterday was cold, again, with 25 mph winds most of the day. Today has dawned a bit warmer, and shows promise for a bike ride, some garage sales, and some chores, and maybe a video.

why we don't need 'talk radio'

Seems pedestrian deaths are increasing and there are a lot of real reasons that this may be happening,,, but talk radio has another theory... and tell me that their conclusion is without bias...

This article does the best to explain what is happening and why the Republicans took control of the House... it is a good read and does a good job at explaining what has happened to the electorate. And I repeat the question... is democracy dead?

Now that Bukowski has been relegated to a place in the Huntington Library and his wife is thinking his home in San Pedro needs to be another monument... he is probably rolling over in his grave....

bike stuff..the new build

I recently posted about the new bike I'm building.... and posted a picture of the progress... well today I completed installing the brakes and wheels, added a seat, and derailliers, and had it ready for installation of a new crank and bottom bracket. It is now in the shop for final adjustments and fine tuning and I should be making the inaugural ride on Wednesday somewhere near Idyllwild. I will soon sell one Gary Fsher Montare (1991) and possible one or two of the Diamondback bikes.  I'm going to next move to the rehab of my vintage Schwinn cruiser...
