Went on a short, fast bike ride. Covered 8.16 miles at an average speed of 16 mph... Max speed was just over 26 mph. This was on my road bike, something I haven't been riding enough. It is taking some re-adjustment, as the bike is a lot faster, and ride is a lot stiffer ( I prefer a steel frame), than my other bikes. The tires and wheels were replaced yesterday, with my 'fast' wheels...aerodynamic rims, bladed spokes, sealed bearing hubs, and tires that run 120-140 p.s.i. . They roll very well, but the ride is very stiff.
I did realize that I need a better (more comfortable) seat, as the riding position is more hunched over with more weight on the hands and butt. I'm using pedals that lock in the shoes, in this case they are by Crank Brothers, and e shoes are semi-pro level cycling shoes. I'm now just another cyclist in spandex and bright colors speeding down the road. Hey, it's a fun way to work out.
My bike is a Scantante R330, 27 speeds, and weighs a bit under 20 pounds. I've posted a picture earlier.
