A good day yesterday.... I will post a few pictures later. More work around the homestead today. Got to tackle the barn, and start hauling some brush to the dump. I'll check on my mulberries and maybe add some water to the tree, it can't hurt.  Later I'll do some bike work and maybe take a ride.

Right now listening to Pandora, the David Byrne mix...

The rabbits are so brave I can walk out and take a picture and they don't flee...

looking into the distance

Somewhere out there, under the haze and coastal fog is the Los Angeles Basin... why the haze looks dirty? It is... It is nice to breathe air that you can't see or cut with a knife.

weathered wood 2

it is always intriguing to see wood age and decay... the character of the formerly living tree is laid bare to the world... the carbon cycle is heading for conclusion.

I just dragged out my vintage Schwinn... vintage 1959...(it was built in Chicago on 06/14/1959).. a true cruiser with a springer front fork, the old cushy saddle, the genuine Schwinn handlebar grips, and big fat tires... this is my distraction during the warmer part of the day. It's dirty and needs new tires, but that can be fixed. This will be the next bike to be sold...I'm going to clean it up, do a bit of touchup on the paint, a bit of Armorall on the parts that are good, new tires (maybe whitewalls) then place an ad... this is a bike for the person who wants a piece of history... it has undergone some changes over the years, with the fenders bobbed, and a set of riser bars. It has a Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub. I have an old paper boy rack from my days as a paper boy in 1960-61 that I will repaint and install...

Just did a bit of updating on Ancestry.com... found a few more relatives and added more documentation to support facts I discovered.  I have quite a pedigree, and looking back I should be able to apply to this group as I have many relatives that were active during the revolutionary war. I guess that explains the revolutionary spirit that comes out at times. I also have connections to Canada, so I wonder if this allows me to claim this country too?

It is fun...
