As I see the weather forecast, I see climate change. They are talking snow, in early October... I may drive up to Pine Cove, a local community, just to watch it snow...it is not normally like this. Extreme changes, and extremes. They are talking 15 to 30 degrees below normal temperature. Just last week er were flirting with 100 degrees, now we are seeing 50 degrees. This has profound consequences. as this impacts food production. That in turn impacts food costs, and in this economy, that means some people will feel hungry a lot more often. I think we have reached that tipping point. The lack of action in the past is catching up with us. We will adapt, but it is not going to be a smooth transition. There is going to be pain and suffering associated with climate change. I can only hope we survive. We have started a profound change on this planet and there is no place to hide from it.

Minneapolis is named the #1 bike town in the U.S.A.   ...but people wonder... yes, they ride bikes, yes its is cold there at times... but the city does what is needed to make bikes a viable part of the transportation mix.. Posted on Dreamwidth
It recently happened... a person is barred from the United States because they might be discussing civil disobedience as part of there presentation. This speaker is John Stewart, a man considered to be the most effective environmental advocate in the United Kingdom. He had his visa revoked, mid flight, while traveling to the United States to speak at a series of environmental symposiums around the country. It seems that when corporate amerika thinks someone may speak truth to their lies, it is in the best interests of our corrupt system to keep that truth from the American people.

Thus is but one more example of how we have lost our freedom and are now but meer pawns of our corporate masters.  This type of oppression will continue till we rise up and destroy those who bind us in chains, be they chains of slavery. oppression, or ignorance. Free thought and the free expression of ideas are the foundation of democracy and when these are taken away, we are just prisoners in this place called the United States..

Seems that every day I read about a new effort to make it harder to vote. This article outlines some of the obstacles that will make the 2012 election a difficult time for those who really value democracy.  One article I just read says the Attorney General for Colorado has decided that military personnel serving overseas should not be able to vote. This is insane, as these are the people who are defending our system and fighting to preserve our rights, including the right to vote. There should be more outrage, but with the media today there is little reporting of these assaults on democracy. Corporatism lives and is working harder every day to suppress democracy.  Take a look at this and see how the story can be twisted when it doesn't fit the corporate policy... I figure the writer and copy editor were told they couldn't tell the truth, it was bad for business. Posted on Dreamwidth
