Friends and low places

Seems I have a circle of friends and others I hang with in our little valley. Most are just getting by, many are trying hard to crawl out of the hole they fell into. One guy is a convicted embezzler. He ripped off a bank in Hawaii and spent 7 years in the prison there. No a dumb man, but now with a record like that he gets work when he can. Another friend was caught check kiting and did a year of supervised probation, She is working every job she can find and presently has turned around. Then there is another who thinks he knows business but is digging himself a hole right now, not taking advice well because he thinks he knows the right way. We are all waiting till reality hits him between the eyes and knocks him down, Then we will all give him a hand and help him do it the right way, Some people only learn from mistakes,  Oh, and the 'business man' has done a few good things, he quit drinking and now he's discovered religion.

Through people here in my valley I have discovered that some women can't seem to understand that after your boyfriend beats you and you have to  call the cops you don't go back and drop charges if he send you flowers and says he's sorry. I'm sorry, I don't buy the apology. I thought this girl had a brain, now I doubt it. I figure she'll be in the hospital within a month.

Living is getting more expensive. The oil companies suckered us again. They raise the price a dollar and after they lower it 50 cents we feel grateful and buy their products again and are fat dumb and happy. This is the marketing strategy I learned from an oil man back in the 80's as he told me to invest in oil stocks, He said if I did I would never lose a cent.

Meat is getting so high that I think I may be forced to become a vegetarian. Lucky for me produce is cheaper. I even found reputable organics brands in the produce section of the 99 cent store in Palm Desert.
