curmugeonEveryone was living in a bubble, living well beyond our means, and then the bubble burst. Home prices fell, retirement accounts disappeared, we lost jobs, we were forced into early retirement, we had been living a dream that became a nightmare. The same has been happening for the United States. Our high living, fueled by debt, and financed by China came crashing down.
Now we are facing the music, we must dance to the tune of the piper and the piper is China. We are now linked in a struggle to survive. They (China) hold a lot of our debt, they own us. We must have their cooperation to move forward, to change, to survive.
There needs to be a fundamental change in how we live. We have to change our ways, consumer driven economies are dead. We need a new path, but will we find it in time? I wonder.
