This whole business about Homeland Security has become a multi billion dollar gambit to spend tax funds on law enforcement. I know that the City of Santa Ana where I worked got millions in grant money to provide 'toys' for police, especially camera systems and such that keep track of every car traveling through the city.

First it was Iraq, then Afghanistan, now Yemen... what about Somalia... we could keep listing countries but that would be futile, as long as we continue our current foreign policy, the number will grow. Thank capitalism and the need to exploit countries for resources.

Yes, I agree. Our little local police "force" has cars fitted to fly into outer space. All this ridiculous technology and this part began with Clinton. It is hard not to get discouraged and I am into embracing "up," in this moment, for sure. :)
