This is the antenna that connects me to one of the regional antenna for the wireless network in our valley. I'm getting good speed and it only glitches under heavy snowfall when it gets slower.

The other side is a plastic cover to keep the snow off. It is aimed at an antenna about a mile away. The system is simple, the valley is one large network operating as G network... I'm running it direct to my router.

It looks rather "home-spun" to be getting something so advanced.

It is fairly advanced, a real wide area network with amplified antennas.
