Astonishing and sad! I'm been reading Temple Grandin and how we treat animals, our food supply. I don't know how we can be so unconscious. She writes of animals that plan ahead. We may be on the low end of the animal spectrum, not the top, as we once supposed. That's my conclusion, not hers. She would probably vote for equality, but when I read something like this I wonder how we allow profits and corporations to dictate what we allow.
