Does it get a huge influx of birds every winter from Point Pelee? I absolutely love this pic btw. :D

Yes, they have the annual return of the swallows, who nest at the mission. Usually around March, every year since the place was built in 1776.

Yes! I thought I heard it before. It's not Point Pelee though it is, er, was more like it that Pembroke, Ontario was their northern destination for a number of years before the Business Association decided to take down the grove near the marina to set up a mall or some such nonsense. Now, the swallows still come up to the Ottawa Valley, they're usually nest somewhere else on the Ottawa Riverway. Reason I know this stuff is that my father is the resident bird fellow in the region where annually for a number of years they would have a festival, art auction each year around the time the swallows would roost in the city.

It's so nice though to see the swallows' southern destination. Thanks! :D

I enjoyed your story. BTW, when the disruption occured in your area, there was a similar disruption and the swallows did not arrive as scheduled... interesting.
