My mailboxes are full of junk, my phone is ringing too often. All this bullshit is from two parties that don't represent me. I voted, in most cases for the lesser of two evils. Unfortunately we don't have viable third parties in this country because the two parties that have power don't allow ballot access, the ability to participate in debates, and because our system of government is for the promotion of consumerism and not for sustainable life on this planet.

Voting is important but voting has become an exercise in futility as we get corporate hacks that once gaining office spend their time working on staying in office. We will never see reforms because the powers than be are not willing to compromise.

It is getting so bad (and it will get a lot worse) from this point forward I'm removing myself from all political mailing lists and going Green. Totally Green... it is the only political party that represents my ideals.

Got to now change my voter registration info...

I agree on the mail, email and phone calls, but I don't think that registering Green will necessarily get you off the lists. I hope it does, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the barrage of calls. It has been unbelievable this year and they are computer calls and they go on and on. I consider the computer calls harassment and it ties up my phone from what is actually important and meaningful. I'm hoping that next election each group learns that harassment is a negative for their cause.

I'm not really worried about getting off the corporate whores lists, I have just have had enough with the two ruling parties and am opting out of their game. I'll stay Green from this point forward and vote Green when I feel like it (more often than not that will be every time) as numbers do count and I don't see being independent as reflecting my political likes.

There's something in me that is still loyal to the Democratic party.

When I hear the candidates for the Green party speak, I am not impressed. I also don't believe in a vote of protest when, for me, there is so much as stake, and I know that many do not perceive the two parties as far apart, and for me, the Democrats do lean more toward what I believe.

Jerry Brown - Meg Whitman - Of course, I am for Jerry and there are many who think he did well in Oakland, so I think it will be interesting to see what he does this time as governor. I can't imagine why anyone would want the job but I certainly hope Whitman doesn't get in.
