I am very aware what can be found in these memos, as it was part of my job to review this information when I worked intelligence, in fact some of the conclusions and opinions posted in these memos were the result of work we did in intelligence gathering.  The reason I left the military and did not work for the CIA (I was recruited) was the nature of the work. After years of working on our side during the cold war, I had had enough of the lies, killings, and sabotage for a lifetime. I still can recall the routine of classifying documents and how many things were not even revealed to the President.  It was a world of 'need to know' and many things just were buried under a higher classification hoping they would never see the light of day. For people to think this is something only the United States would do, you are mistaken. This intelligence gathering is something every country does, and what they do with the information and how they use it is something we should all be concerned about.

They are brave because I know that if anything happens it will make the tales of rendition and Guantanamo seem like child's play. I was aware of countless times during the cold war that people died at the hands of our country just for knowing too much or being on a hit list.
