it looks like they are getting serious about containment as I just observed the DC-10 super soaker water drop aircraft pass over my area a few times today, I'll try to grab a picture. I watched the plane with binoculars and saw it dip down over the ridge as if it might be making a drop of water/fire retardant.

Such is life in the back country... Never a dull moment.
