This is a pedestrian bridge from the Hilton to PETCO Park (the baseball stadium)



The bridge in the distance is the Coronado Bay Bridge, very high and a favorite spot for suicides in San Diego. I crossed it twice that day without incident. Posted on Dreamwidth

The big spike comes out of the ground to support the cables that support the bridge. It is an unusual structure, somewhat more art than engineering and probably cost the builder of PETCO park millions.
