The world is changing... but you probably already knew that. People are changing, you can see that. Sometimes change is good, sometimes not I see a rise in bigotry, a more open expression of such bigotry at high levels in the public arena. I see an absence of compassion and humanity Do you know your neighbor? We need to drop the barriers of race, creed, color, or economic status. This is how the bigots divide and conquer. Don't let them win.
Do you know what is happening in your community? Community, that is missing in many parts of our world. We don't have that connection. When I was young, that was part of my New England heritage, we practiced community. When I moved to California, the community became the neighborhood. Now it is even smaller, as it has become a small circle of people I know who understand that we are all in this together. This trend needs to be reversed. We need more community, it has to be made accessible to more people. We need it to grow, to become powerful, to have a voice, to be a vehicle for change. What can we do to make it happen? I'm not an expert, but I'll be exploring this.
