terror

I'm amazed how people are surprised when terrorism comes home to the United States. With all the death, destruction and mayhem we have done in this world, including the poorly conceived 'war on terror', we have done nothing to reduce terror but have fueled it.  When you attack societies that are only a generation or less from a tribal culture, you create large numbers of people who now are driven to avenge wht they see is an unjust act. It seems that some of the people behind this war on terror are blind to the cultures they are antagonizing. If you are going to eliminate terrorism, you have to eliminate the cause, in other words, you help people and stop the 'remote control' war and the killing on innocents. Collateral damage is just another way of saying you are indiscriminately killing women and children, and I dont know of any father or son or brother in any culture who would not want revenge. We have pushed some cultures into a corner and for them there is only one way out, and that is to fight back any way they can.

Yes, but paradox is that terrorists (in Boston) ARE NOT from the countries ever attacked by US army. No, chechens always were treated by US officials as true robin hoods, good guys and fighters for freedom. And what was their thanks for that?

Yes, they came here with their parents, but the parents went back because they did not like our 'freedom'. Their sons were doing well, or at least the younger one, until he came under the influence of his older brother. The younger one did state that the motivation for their actions was the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. They felt a kinship with their fellow muslims who were being killed. At one time in the past America was the great melting pot. People came here and assimilated into American culture. Now we have every ethnic group making their own community, and still practicing their customary ways of life, even when it conflicts with the typical 'American way' of doing things. One of the reasons we treated Chechens so well was they were fighting Russia. Everything has a political angle and sometimes it backfires. I wonder how many others there are here who hate us. I know that many Somali refugees have seen their sons return to fight for the al-Qaida backed rebels. The new refugees rarely break tis with their homelands.

That was THE ONLY reason. For US government even Aliens from space are friends if they fight Russians.

What happened to our country? Are people really that dumb or just brainwashed? I find people can;t even get the facts straight, but that is understandable since the authorities can't even get their story straight. I stopped and read an announcement downtown about an event next weekend... May 4th is Loyalty Day... doesn't that sound like something from Orwell's 1984? It will be an event sponsored by the VFW and will have as the guest speaker, Rep. Raul Ruiz, a Democrat. There are a lot of bat shit crazy people out there, and we are looking more like a fascist state every day. Democracy is dead.
