Okay, the escrow closed. Money has been deposited. This was the first day of 'homelessness'. It is going to be a learning experience. Those things you take for granted have a whole new meaning. Things like hot showers, private bathrooms, wireless connections are all cherished. At 5 p.m. today I was still working on my 'new' home. First I have to clean it. it has been sitting vacant for over a year. I have to haul some stuff that was left behind to the dump. I have to set up my kitchen. I have to get the water working and the electricity working somewhat, but I'm also adopting a new life schedule. I'm up at dawn, in bed by dark. I kept a few small appliances, they will stay at my shack. I need to refine my camping gear, I want to sleep on a cot with a decent mattress (inflatable) I want a larger tent that I can set up easily. I'm going to reconfigure my Yakima rack system to haul it all.

This is the first day of the rest of my life. Lets see where this takes me.

It does feel good, but I'm going to work this very carefully to keep some money there so if opportunity to buy a place happens, i can move on it. I'm going to learn to live somewhat frugally, i want this ride to go on for a while. I will be visiting soon, I'll give you fair warning.

Home is where the heart is! You may be houseless, but I think you're going to build a fine home for yourself. Definitely an adventure!
