Sometimes I see society as a slow train wreck. Things are slowly falling apart and what we see as those values that make a civil society are coming unraveled. It is sort of depressing to see the country becoming increasingly like a Third World hellhole. I guess I can look back and remember when this country was something to be proud of. The last time I thought that way was before I graduated from high school. Maybe I will see real change in my lifetime, but I seriously see things getting a lot worse before that happens. I'm glad I never had kids because I'd hate to think of the mess I left them.

Sure, life is worth living. What we need to do is lead a better life. It may not be all politics, but, politics is leading to misery and suffering. We are a nation of laws, but the process is being subverted. History teaches those willing to study, but as with generations past, we fail to study history, thus we keep making the same mistakes. When will we ever learn? You don't have to see the future, you just have to understand cause and effect.

I take some comfort that every era makes folks feel this way, and in every era we're all called upon to work for the light against the darkness.
