The end of the 'new deal'
Nov. 4th, 2004 08:25 amThe advent of the Republican takeover of the government of the United States
marks the end of all social gains that were derived during the era f the New
Deal under Roosevelt. In the next four years I foresee the end of Social
Security as we know it, replaced with a quasi 401K. I see the decline in
public education and the return of prayer to schools. I see the end of
social programs on the federal level, no more section VIII housing, less
food stamps, less programs like headstart. Watch the Neocons take over the
Pentagon, with Wolfowitz becoming Rumsfeld's replacement. I see a cabinet
position for Karl Rove, he must be rewarded for his loyalty. Ashcroft will
depart, as will Colin Powell.
We will more interference in the internal affairs of other governments. We
will start an aggressive embargo of Cuba, starting with a naval blockade. We
will try to start a coup in Venezuela. I see a battle with Syria, starting
after a border incursion by U.S Forces from Iraq. The Kurds will try to form
a new Kurdistan, only to be invaded by Turkey, while the United States
stands down.
Watch the end of civil rights protection for Gays. The criminalization of
abortion will occur before the end of 2005. Free speech will have limits
placed on it. A national identity card will be introduced. Some
environmental organizations will be labeled as terrorist organizations,
namely Greenpeace.
That is my look at the future. The election of Dubya will be a tough time
but will ultimately piss off people that in 2008 we will have another heated
election or the start of the new American Revolution.
