It seems that there is some controversy about lowering the flag to half staff in honor of a fallen soldier, and it doesn't stop there. It seems that some feel that lowering the flag to honor a soldier that falls in Iraq is an anti-war statement. It probably is in that it is an 'in your face' statement to the public that there is a war going on and some people are making the ultimate sacrifice. Some days I feel like flying the flag upside down as a distress signal, to bring to people's attention how bad conditions are in this country.
There is the problem of Global Warming and that issue has been co-opted by business as a new 'greening' of America that will enhance their bottom line without any meaningful progress towards the goal of reducing greenhouse gases.

We have Hillary, being the best Republican a Democrat can be, talking about staying in Iraq for decades, and she is the 'front runner'.

We have an appetite for oil and are not willing to make the social change to smaller, more economical cars, because we must drive behemoths to protect us from the other behemoths traveling the highways.

Wake up America!
